RSA Conference 2012 To Name Most Innovative Company

By: Trevor Boland

The RSA Conference, held in San Francisco this year, is only a few days away. Over the course of the five day conference attendees will be able to take place in Peer2Peer sessions, SANS Tutorials, or, of course, listen to one of the over 15 keynote speakers, one of which happens to be ex Prime Minister Tony Blair.

RSA Conference 2012 To Name Most Innovative Company

But perhaps more interesting than all of that (except Mr. Blair as he is British and, therefore, interesting) is the naming of the most Innovative Company. The intention of the award is to identify the companies that are making innovations in information security that will impact the landscape of the industry now and in the future. As Sandra Toms LaPedis, Area Vice President and General Manager of RSA Conference puts it, "If 2011 taught security professionals one lesson, it is to expect the unexpected. Security professionals cannot afford to rely on conventional measures and expect to shield their organizations against emerging threats." As hackers become more and more sophisticated, the security industry can not simply rest on our laurels. We need to innovate ourselves and stay on par with the hackers if we ever hope to over take them.
